An author of over 40 textbook chapters and journal articles, Dr. Charles K. Herman is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon who performs cosmetic surgery of the face, breasts, and body, as well as reconstructive surgery of the face and breasts. An active academician as well as clinical surgeon, he is on the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, PA; Chief Medical Executive, Chairman of Surgery, and Medical Director of Plastic Surgery at Pocono Health Systems; a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery; a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons; an award-winning researcher; an author of numerous publications in highly esteemed journals and textbooks and a lecturer and presenter at medical schools, hospitals, and conferences throughout the country. Dr. Herman has an office on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, directly across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and an office and spa suite in the scenic and relaxing Delaware Water Gap vacation area of Pennsylvania bordering New Jersey. He has been interviewed recently by ABC News, PBS Channel 21, and Fox News, and in multiple magazines and newspapers including Health Magazine, The New York Daily News, Our House Magazine, the Star-Ledger, the Morning Call, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Pocono Record, and the Eastern Poconos Community News. His facial reconstruction of American soldier Tim Juliano, injured in the line of duty while serving in Iraq, was the subject of national attention and featured on The Learning Channel's and The Discovery Channel's popular cable television series "American Chopper" and supported by the generosity of the Iraq Star Foundation in California. Dr. Herman's recent textbook on the subject of body contouring, Encyclopedia of Body Sculpting After Massive Weight Loss, was awarded a national book prize from the American Publishers' Assocation. Located at 1050 Fifth Avenue, it is a modern and advanced office complex with a fully accreditated operative suite, recovery room, consultation rooms, and treatment rooms. Located on Fifth Avenue along Manhattan's famous Museum Mile, the office is across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and two blocks from the Guggenheim Museum of Art. Dr. Herman's new encyclopedia on volume enhancement prereleased at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Meeting in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Herman is the lead editor of the Encyclopedia of Aesthetic Rejuvenation Through Volume Enhancement from acclaimed publisher, Thieme. The textbook features chapters on breast implants, soft tissue fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm®, chin and cheek implants, buttock implants, and calf implants, as well as chapters on stem cells and fat grafting, which are hot topics in the field of plastic surgery.

Reference textbook for body contouring surgery, The Encyclopedia of Body Sculpting After Massive Weight Loss, coedited and authored by Dr. Herman, launched in October 2010 at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada, receives book award from the American Publishers' Association!
